BITCHDOM
When we stand up for ourselves and our beliefs,
they call us a bitch. When we stand up for those we love,
they call us a bitch. When we speak our minds,
think our own thoughts or do things our own way, they call us a bitch.
Being a bitch means we won't compromise what's in our hearts.
It means we live our lives OUR way.
It means we won't allow anyone to step on us.
When we refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it,
we are defined as a bitch.
The same thing happens when we take time for ourselves
instead of being everyone's maid, or when we act a little selfish.
It means we have the courage and strength to allow ourselves to be
who we truly are and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think
we "should" be. We are outspoken, opinionated and determined. We know
what we want and there is nothing wrong with that!
So try to stomp on us, try to douse our inner flame,
try to squash every ounce of beauty we hold within us.
You won't succeed. And if that makes us a bitch, so be it.
